Registration info

Before starting the registration process, please read the information below. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected] for advice.

Everyone who is listed on the conference programme and who wishes to attend the flagship conference Nature-based Solutions: From Innovation to Common-use (NBS 2017), related to the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, must be registered before 9 October 2017. The conference is free to attend.

The registration to the conference is organized through the official accreditation system of the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Only fully completed registrations will be accepted and each participant must be registered separately.

Once you click the registration link, you will be directed to the registration page. Please fill out the provided form completely. The fields marked with red dots are required to complete the registration. After you have completely filled out the registration form, click on the “Save” button at the bottom right side of the form.

The registration is submitted only after you push “Save” bottom. You will receive an e-mail to the address you provided to confirm that the information was sent out. You will also be provided with a password to change the preferences in the conference program later, if you wish.

After the registration is submitted, it will be looked over by the conference team and accepted. Only fully completed registrations will be accepted. Each participant will receive a confirmation of acceptance within two weeks.

The registration includes full attendance to the conference 24–26 October, the conference programme book, online access to the conference abstracts and materials, refreshment breaks, lunches, list of delegates, conference app and attendance to the evening programs. Please note that some events have a limited number of places, so register early.

The pre-conference field trips

Registration to the field trips is done at the same time and form as registration to the conference. Each person needs to be registered to the field trips separately. A minimum level of participation is needed for each field trip to happen. If this is not achieved, attendees will be notified. Spaces on conference field trips are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, early booking is advised.

Welcome Reception

Conference quests are welcomed to take part of the Welcome reception at the Museum of Estonian Architecture. The museum will be holding a curated exhibition related to the Tallinn Architecture Biennale 2017 “BioTallinn”. The Welcome Party is free of charge, but registration is required. Please note that the reception is limited to 150 people.

Conference dinner

Conference guests are welcome to take part of the Conference Dinner on the 25th of October at the Tallinn University. The Conference Dinner is free of charge, but registration is required. Please note that the dinner is limited to 300 people.

Awards

The conference will include award ceremonies for a Special Kids film contest on October 24 and for the Photography competition ‘NATURE@work’ organized by the European Environment Agency on October 26. Both ceremonies are open for the attendees.

Accomodation

Conference participants are expected to organize and pay for their own accommodation in Tallinn. There is however a limited number of bookings available for a reduced price, which can be used on a first-come first-served basis. Please see information under Accomodation.

Most central hotels in Tallinn are all located within walking distance of Tallinn University and there is a wide choice of other options available (http://www.tallinnhotels.ee). During the presidency, many hotels are expected to be full so early booking is recommended.

The conference organisers strongly recommend that you purchase your own travel insurance for the duration of your trip.

Visa and Letters of invitation for travel visa applications

Citizens of European Union countries do not need a visa to enter Estonia. Check the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website if you are in any doubt. Visa support letters may only be requested after registration is completed and full contact details have been provided.

The visa support letter is not an official invitation to enter the EU or the Schengen area. Conference participants are expected to organize and pay for all their travel expenses.
